Teller Supervisor – Retail Employee (Holyoke, MA)

Salary Range: $24.00 – $27.50 per hour, commensurate with experience. This range is a general estimate and does not guarantee a specific rate of pay.

Responsibilities

Primary Accountabilities:

Perform functions within scope of authority to provide the highest level of customer service and responsiveness to customers.

Leadership and People Management

Effectively manage the office in the absence of the Branch Manager and Assistant Branch Manager.

Monitor teller differences and assist the Branch Manager in instituting corrective action.

Supervise branch operations including cash handling for the branch, ATM balancing, proper cash limits, supplies, logs, and reports.

Support the Branch Manager’s efforts to achieve SRB goals individually and as a team.

Coach tellers on Sincere standards, Pride standards and partner referrals.

Assist with annual performance evaluations.

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Bank’s mission statement and core values across the team.

Support Bank initiatives both internally and externally to promote a positive Bank image and assist with growth.

Maintain a professional image and ensure standards are met for professional presentation by teller staff.

Operations and Compliance

Ensure compliance with Federal and State laws and Bank policies and procedures.

Assist with the completion of required periodic audits, month‑end reports, and inventories.

Ensure completion of all required training by the entire teller staff.

Assist in managing branch risk (fraud, check initials, check holds).

Maintain constant alertness and work safely.

Platform/Desk Accountabilities

Open accounts and assist customers with existing relationships.

Perform account maintenance and process requests.

Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of Bank products and services and offer solutions based on customer needs.

Maintain relationships and may initiate new ones.

Respond to customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and diplomatic manner (usually within 24 hours).

Stay current on market conditions regarding products, updates, and new technologies.

May provide notary services.

Requirements

Understanding of the HFG mission statement and core values.

Other similar duties as assigned or requested by the Branch Manager.

Flexibility in scheduling; must be available to work Saturdays and extended hours; travel may be required.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Strong written and oral communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Computer skills and ability to use office equipment.

Adherence to Bank dress code policy as found in the HFG employee handbook.

Education and Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Prior supervisory experience required.

Cash handling experience required.

Two or more years of teller experience preferred.

High degree of quality customer service, leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Computer skills required; knowledge of Microsoft products a plus.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Fluency in a second language is a plus.
