Job Description
Registered Nurse - Postpartum Care
Schedule
Weekend coverage required; scheduling type is flexible.
Assignment Details
This is a 36-hour orientation position.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years postpartum experience required.
Labor & Delivery experience and IV start skills required.
EPIC charting experience required.
Telemetry interpretation required; RN must pass EKG exam prior to start.
Current BLS and IV certification required.
Responsibilities
Provide family-centered care for postpartum adults and healthy newborns.
Manage common patient cases including vaginal and C-section deliveries, NAS infants, and low-birth-weight infants.
Support breastfeeding and perform newborn assessments, including monitoring for hypoglycemia and managing phototherapy.
Handle postpartum complications such as hemorrhage management and infection control.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including pharmacy, social services, and rapid response teams.
