Now Hiring Security Officers

The OCOM Facilities Department seeks a service-oriented Security Officer to perform prescribed duties both at a fixed post, and to patrol all assigned campus areas. Works closely with the Director of Facilities to ensure a safe and secure campus, while interacting with all Campus Students, Faculty, Staff and Visitors.

Maintains friendly, efficient, positive customer service demeanor towards co-workers and members of the OCOM Community.

Monitor CCTV and observers for criminal activity or suspicious circumstances in the form of persons, places or things, If suspicious circumstances are noted, calls for police assistance immediately and remains in the area to guide or assist the responding officer.

Creates a sense of safety and security on OCOM Campus

Cooperates with and assists State, Municipal and other public agencies as required, both Police and Fire

Assists all persons seeking directions, information, or assistance.

Demonstrates the ability to follow departmental policies and procedures.

Writes reports and maintains appropriate documentation, conduct follow-up investigations, including daily security reports; inspects public safety equipment; and monitors radio transmissions and responds to ongoing incidents concerning the safety and security of the campus community

Serve as liaison between campus and off-campus emergency services

Previous law enforcement and/or security training preferred

Class D - Florida licensed security preferred

Must successfully pass a personal background

Must be local to the Central Florida area

Adaptable and Flexible to the needs of the OCOM community as they change

Strong interpersonal skills to build working partnerships with faculty, staff, and students as well as external parties

A high level of professional ethics and personal integrity. Experienced in using various Safety Department equipment (two-way radio, cameras, computers, etc.).

Ability Respond to campus emergency, priority, and routine calls for service

Proficient in using Apple Mac computers and Google Workspace tools

Pay rate: $26.44/per hour
