Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Level 1 Trauma Emergency Department position working evening shifts (1p-1a) with a minimum of 1 year of ED experience required.
Details

• Work in a 68-bed Emergency Department at a Level 1 Trauma & Burn Center and Level 2 Stroke Center in Springfield, MO
• High-acuity, busy urban trauma center serving 200+ patients per day with trauma, stroke, STEMI, and regional burn cases
• Routine patient ratio of 4:1, subject to change based on surge and other circumstances
• Evening shift: 1:00 PM – 1:00 AM
• 13-week contract
• Weekends required as determined by the facility
• No floating required
• No on-call requirements
• EMR: Epic

Requirements

Active MO RN license or compact RN license eligible for Missouri licensure required at time of consideration
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required
Required certifications (AHA only): BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC; NIHSS certification required prior to start
No certifications expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
Minimum 1 year of ED experience in a Level 1 Trauma facility, OR minimum 2 years of ED experience in a Level 2 Trauma facility — experience level must be clearly reflected on resume
No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
Additional Information

Performs direct patient care for all age groups including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Coordinates patient care activities with ancillary and other departments to optimize outcomes
Experience with trauma/peds populations and high-acuity environments is preferred
Black scrubs required; jeans and unprofessional attire are not permitted
Flu vaccination or Mercy-approved exemption is required from November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted
Block scheduling cannot be accommodated
RTO up to 5 days is allowed but must be made up during the assignment; RTO will not be approved during the first week of the assignment
Only 1 holiday RTO request permitted per assignment
Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
Physical demands include standing and walking for the majority of the shift, lifting and pushing patients on stretchers and in wheelchairs, and the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs
