Essential Duties and Responsibilities of an Electrical Engineer:

Research, design, develop and maintain new products and components, including, but not limited to:

o Printed circuit boards (PCB)

o Motors, AC, DC (brushed and brushless)

o Wiring harnesses, including connectors

o Software programming

Analyze the requirements, capabilities and performance of new and existing productsCreate and maintain Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) for electric components and productsCommunicate orally and in writing with personnel at all levels, both internal and external, regarding the technical details of new and existing productsResearch potential new product developments and new processesDesign, develop, and lead tests to qualify new products and to support changes to existing productsParticipate in the activities of a product development team, or the electrical portion of a larger development teamUse CAD programs to develop concepts and designsProcure components and services for development of prototype hardwareAssemble and evaluate the performance of prototype and pre-production hardwareReview and act on supplier non-conformancesBe instrumental in cost avoidance and cost reduction activities throughout development and productionProcess customer and in-house engineering sample requestsProvide the Product Engineering Manager or Director of Product Development with the technical information for the monthly Engineering Report
