Corporate Director Of Facilities & Food Service Management
As the Corporate Director of Facilities & Food Service Management, you will report to the VP of Administration and be part of the Nobis Rehabilitation Partners team, with an objective to ensure the highest quality of care is provided to the patients served by the organization. This position is responsible for the strategic oversight of safe, reliable, and efficient operations of buildings, grounds, facilities, machinery, and equipment across all hospital locations, including all critical utility and facility support systems, as well as organization-wide oversight of food and nutrition services, including dietary operations, vendor/contract food service management, food safety/sanitation compliance, and dining services. The position sets organization-wide facilities and food service policy and standards, oversees and directs Regional and Hospital Directors of Facilities, monitors timely completion of work orders, leads mock audits and perpetual survey readiness initiatives, and oversees functioning of facility operations including mechanical, electrical, fire, safety, plumbing, and waste management. Ensures all hospitals and associated maintenance and food service activities, processes, and procedures are compliant with all regulatory requirements and Nobis standards and business objectives. Develops and manages facilities and food service capital and operating budgets, leads vendor and contract strategy at the corporate level, and advises executive leadership on related risk, compliance, and capital planning. Leads and advises Regional and Hospital Directors to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Travel will be required for this position but will fluctuate based on hospital survey timelines, new hospital openings, and orientation needs of new facilities leadership. On average travel should not exceed 30%.
Proven experience in healthcare facility management (hospital preferred) and food/nutrition service management, with multi-site or regional/corporate oversight experience.
Strong understanding of building systems, maintenance procedures, food safety regulations, healthcare regulations, budgeting, and vendor management.
Bachelor's Degree in Facilities Management, Hospitality, Engineering, or related field preferred.
Setting strategic direction and standards for facilities and food service operations across all hospital locations.
Overseeing and supporting Regional Directors of Facilities in day-to-day maintenance activities, preventative maintenance, repairs, and equipment upgrades.
Negotiating and managing national/corporate-level vendor contracts for maintenance and food service operations, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
Establishing facility inspection programs and ensuring potential issues are addressed promptly across the portfolio.
Ensuring organization-wide adherence to all applicable healthcare regulations, including CIHQ/Joint Commission standards and food safety/sanitation codes, regarding facility and food service operations.
Leading, mentoring, and developing Regional and Hospital Directors of Facilities and their teams.
Overseeing food and nutrition services across all hospital locations, including in-house and contracted dietary operations, and partnering with dietary leadership to ensure patient meal services meet clinical, nutritional, and satisfaction standards.
Maintaining open communication with hospital facility/dietary staff, department heads, Regional Directors, and corporate/executive leadership to address concerns and coordinate activities.
Overseeing orientation and onboarding of new Regional and Hospital Directors of Facilities.
Monitoring service levels and patient satisfaction (visitors and staff) and driving continuous improvement activities to ensure the safety and quality of facility and food services organization-wide.
Developing and managing the facilities and food service capital and operating budgets; presenting performance, risk, and capital planning updates to executive leadership.
Collaborating with senior leadership on a regular formal and informal basis to discuss facilities and food service progress, changes, or problems.
