Job Title: MRI Technologist I Location: Galveston, TX (Multiple locations within the hospital system) Schedule: Various shifts available (including evenings, weekends, and rotating schedules) Pay rate: $41/hour, paid bi-weekly About the Role Join a leading healthcare system as an MRI Technologist, delivering high-quality imaging and patient-centered care in a collaborative clinical environment. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology while supporting physicians and improving patient outcomes. Key Responsibilities Perform routine MRI and MRA procedures with accuracy and attention to detail Assist physicians with diagnostic and special procedures, including sterile techniques Ensure patient safety by following all MRI safety protocols and guidelines Optimize imaging protocols for quality, efficiency, and patient comfort Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately using critical thinking skills Document procedures accurately and enter charges in real time Perform equipment quality control (QC) checks to ensure proper functionality Collaborate with care teams to provide seamless patient care Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Qualifications Required: Completion of an accredited MRI training program Minimum 1+ year of MRI experience BLS certification (American Heart Association) MRI certification OR registry-eligible (must obtain ARRT or ARMRIT within 6 months) Strong communication and patient care skills Preferred: Experience working in a hospital or high-volume imaging environment Familiarity with PACS, EHR, and Radiology Information Systems Work Environment & Requirements Clinical setting (scrubs required) Use of MRI units, contrast injectors, PACS, and EHR systems Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs Exposure to healthcare environments and potential hazards (radiation, biohazards, etc.) Participation in call, weekend, holiday, and emergency rotations required Additional Details Weekend shifts (e.g., Fri–Sun nights or Sat–Mon days) Weekday evening shifts (e.g., Mon–Fri 1 PM – 9 PM) Opportunity to work with advanced imaging technology in a respected academic medical center Interested?
