General Definition and Conditions of Work

Performs responsible clerical work performing a variety of clerical tasks in an office environment; maintains files and records; does related work as required. Work is performed under regular supervision.

Essential Functions / Typical Tasks

Providing general assistance to school officials.

Maintains lists, files and database;

Makes copies; sends faxes to various locations;

Performs basic data entry and filing duties;

Folds and stuffs various publications and labels envelopes;

Serves as receptionist; greets visitors and provides direction and assistance in absence of receptionist;

Performs related tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

General knowledge of standard office procedures; thorough knowledge of the operation of the switchboard; ability to speak clearly, understand and follow written and oral directions; ability to operate standard office equipment; ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed.

Education and Experience

Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school and some experience in clerical work.
