Travel Nurse Job Details

Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 – $2,040

Contract Length: 16 weeks (Travel Nurse Contract)

Shift: 12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30); may include days or rotating shifts based on unit needs

Setting: Corrections Health Unit – PCU and Medical-Surgical (Oncology) assignments; secure/locked unit

At least 1 year of current PCU or Medical-Surgical RN experience within the last 3 years (PCU RN / Progressive Care Unit experience)

Valid RN license: compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission (Ohio nursing license)

Experience with EPIC electronic health record required (EPIC charting)

Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program

Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred (telemetry / cardiac care skills)

Oncology RN or medical-surgical oncology experience preferred

Float between PCU and Oncology Medical-Surgical units as needed (PCU RN and Med-Surg RN responsibilities)

Deliver high-quality patient care to incarcerated patients in a secure, locked corrections health unit (Corrections Nurse experience helpful)

Ensure staff and patient safety and adhere to unit and corrections protocols

Manage nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 in PCU and 1:4–5 in Medical-Surgical

Interpret and manage dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, and cardiac drips (monitoring; Administer IV therapies and blood products; Care for patients with active oncology diagnoses, postoperative needs, COPD, sepsis, and other complex medical conditions

Use Pyxis for medication administration and EPIC for documentation and charting

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory services, and rapid response teams

Participate in orientation, comply with Ohio fingerprinting process, and follow facility security clearance procedures
