Travel RN- Registered Nurse (Day Shift)

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Outpatient Urology Clinic position in New Haven, CT, requiring at least 2 years of experience and a 4x10 day shift schedule.

Job Details

• Outpatient urology clinic setting supporting provider office visits, outpatient procedures, and nursing visits,
• Nursing visit duties include bladder chemo instillations, catheter changes, and rectal swabs,
• Phone triage responsibilities included as part of the role,
• Each surgeon is typically assigned one nurse; APPs are covered at 0.5 nurse ratio; each procedure has one dedicated nurse,
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs,
• Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM,
• No weekend requirements,
• Charting system: Epic,
• Parking available at $125/month,

Job Requirements

• Active CT or Compact RN license required (pending license accepted, but must be active prior to start),
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required,
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required,
• BLS certification required,
• Flu vaccination required - declinations are not accepted,
• 1 professional reference required for consideration,
• Candidates must not have any priors on their nursing license,

Additional Information

• Nurse will be trained to support a specific group of provider clinics as well as nursing visits,
• Responsibilities include prior authorizations, prescription refills, chart preparation, and phone triage,
• This is a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center with 1,000+ beds,
• COVID vaccination required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted,
• Royal blue scrubs required,
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position,
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility,
• Former permanent staff must have been separated for at least 2 years to be eligible,
• RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval,
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
