divh2Operations Supervisor II/h2pOperations Supervisor II is responsible for supervising the collections activities in one or more lines of business (commercial, residential, roll-off and container delivery pick up). The Operations Supervisor II manages drivers and helpers and works with the Operations Hauling Manager to implement tactical initiatives to drive functional excellence and budget achievement. The Supervisor ensures adherence to all accident prevention programs and leads operations to ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, operating, regulatory, accounting, ethics and other standards. Responsibilities include the execution and delivery of Safety, Customer Experience, and Efficiency while supporting a culture of employee engagement./ppstrongEssential Job Functions:/strong/pullipManage a team of Drivers and Helpers/p/lilipCheck in Drivers and helpers ensuring they are fit for duty, in uniform, and have proper PPE./p/lilipUnderstand and provide leadership to achieve and communicate about safety goals and objectives./p/lilipAnalyze drivers routes to assess any unsafe conditions and work with the sales and dispatch team to remove unsafe conditions identified./p/lilipPartner with the maintenance department to ensure all equipment remains in working order and in compliance with safety standards./p/lilipOversee effective safety and accident prevention programs to ensure all reasonable actions are taken to prevent accidents and injuries; ensure a safe and productive work environment for all employees; implement and maintain an effective safety program./p/lilipConduct route observations and coach drivers on safe driving and monitor progress./p/lilipEngage assigned employees in active participation to instill a culture of safety by demonstration of a personal commitment to safe operations and active personal outreach to operational employees./p/lilipMonitor telematic system for unsafe events (distracted driving, seatbelt use, speeding, etc) and coach employees on unsafe driving behaviors/p/lilipPerform route vehicle inspections safety lane./p/lilipRespond to vehicle accidents and conduct preliminary investigations./p/lilipSurvey a new stop for safe service./p/lilipMonitor/supervise DVIR pre and post trip activities by driver/p/lilipEnsure adherence to DOT regulations, environmental compliance, and municipal ordinances./p/lilipMaintain accurate route documentation, service records, and regulatory paperwork./p/lilipProvide service to all customers that meets or exceeds customer expectations with regard to the entire customer experience./p/lilipUnderstand missed pickup goals and meet or exceed expectations related to those goals./p/lilipResolve unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns and schedule changes with timely communications to all stakeholders./p/lilipInteract with customers to solve and rectify any issues and improve the overall customer experience./p/lilipCommunicate any changes/needs to the appropriate contact for Municipal work./p/lilipOnsite customer visits may be required periodically./p/lilipServe as a positive representative of the Company to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty to the Company./p/lilipIdentifies, evaluates, and develops route assignments that are cost effective and meet business objectives./p/lilipProvides detailed analysis of route performance to ensure all pickups are made and are done on a timely manner./p/lilipUnderstand missed pickup goals and meet or exceed expectations related to those goals./p/lilipReview weight audit activity following a truck./p/lilipRoute audit to ensure we are not picking up cancelled customers./p/lilipWork with Dispatch to manage door traffic./p/lilipMonitor employee attendance, punctuality, and performance./p/lilipVerify proper waste segregation and disposal procedures are followed./p/lilipCreate a collaborative, communicative team environment and drive employee engagement with the Company./p/lilipBuild and develop talent on the team, understand employees career goals and provide coaching to get employees ready for advancement with the Company./p/li/ulpstrongRequirements and Qualifications:/strong/pulli3-8 years of experience in waste management operations/lili3+ years of supervisory experience in waste management, transportation, and/or logistics services/liliExperience with route optimization and efficiency improvement./liliAssociates degree or higher in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred or equivalent in work experience/liliKnowledge of DOT requirements for commercial vehicles/liliStrong analytical skills/liliKnowledge of PowerBI preferred/liliComputer skills (Microsoft Outlook and basic Excel)/liliMust have desire and ability to learn the companys software applications Must possess strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills/liliDefensive Driving (Smith System 5 Keys)/li/ulpstrongAdditional Information/strong/ppThis job description is intended to be an accurate representation of the general functions of the job, rather than an exhaustive list of duties, responsibilities, or experience.
