COUNSELOR (Full Time POSITION)

The Adult Criminal Justice and Treatment Services (ACJS) supports clients who may have struggles related to a substance use disorder. ACJS’ work includes screening and assessments for substance use disorders, placing clients into treatment programs, monitoring and reporting on progress, and providing support including, but not limited to, insurance enrollment, obtaining a state ID, and finding employment resources.

We are currently looking for a full‑time Counselor.

The Treatment Counselor position provides direct clinical services in a one on one and/or group setting with individuals with substance use disorders. These services will include assessing an individual’s clinical needs, goal planning and objectives within the guidelines established by the agency and primary care provider.

Required to complete a comprehensive behavioral health assessment to determine the client’s current behavioral health diagnosis

Collaborates with internal and external partners, participate in staff meetings and monthly supervisions

Maintains all required individual and program related documentation which includes, documenting the results of screenings, enrollments, service plans, progress notes, discharge summaries and other individual‑related activities

Bachelor’s degree preferred, in social work, psychology, sociology, business from an accredited college or university or related field or four years’ experience in human services. Specific knowledge necessary for working with individuals and families engaged in high‑risk behaviors

Knowledge of human behavior and performance; Demonstrated proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite
