Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes phased array radar systems, electronic modules, pedestals, and power and cooling systems. We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our radar development programs. This person will be responsible for working with mechanical teams in all phases of our design cycles, from concept development through design, development, building and test. Key requirements for this position include proven problem-solving skills and experience in hardware design and integration, engineering analysis, and mechanical drawing creation with military hardware. Individuals will interface and collaborate primarily with other engineering disciplines, as well as operations, systems, quality and program offices.This Senior Mechanical Engineer is an on-site role in Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.What You Will DoUtilize mechanical hardware design experience and knowledge with ruggedized structures, interconnects, cooling, electronics packaging and/or array integration.Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems related to the entire product life cycle including proposal, design, manufacture, integration and test of phase array radars/electronics for multiple military programs.Help create the definitions of mechanical outline and construction details, component selection and specification, mechanical and assembly drawings, electrical/RF layout, and delivering the final technical data package.Work with limited supervision and meet commitments for assigned schedule, financial, and technical goals with ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily workPrepare proposal inputs on behalf of the product area.Provide technical conscience, challenged with making sure the product and process meet appropriate standards and requirements while helping to remove roadblocks.Perform complex tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function are as intended by design for the use-application.Interact with senior personnel, occasionally including external customers, on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.Qualifications You Must HaveTypically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience.Minimum of 3 years in the design of radar architecture or electronics packaging for military or aerospace or commercial applications.Qualifications We PreferExperience with ANSI drawing standards and technical data package creation.First order structural analysis techniques.Experience with design to military and commercial standards.Experience with CREO (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.Cognizant of machine suppliers’ capabilities or have direct experience in manufacturing and assembly support role for producibility.Familiarity with the design and manufacturing processes of CCAs, mechanical/RF components, metal housings, structures, and electronics assemblies, metal fabrications and joining techniques.Experience in selection of materials for structural, thermal, mechanical, electrical, producibility, and environmental considerations including corrosion mitigation and prevention.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Advanced degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering.What We OfferOur values drive our actions, behaviors, and performance with a vision for a safer, more connected world. healthcare, wellness, retirement and work/life benefits; Some of the benefits we offer include parental (including paternal) leave, flexible work schedules, achievement awards, educational assistance and child/adult backup care.Relocation assistance available!This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.This position requires security clearance.
