Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele night shift position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

Hospital-based Med/Surg Tele unit (East Tower, Floor 9) with 27 beds

Patient population includes orthopedic surgery, MSK infections, and orthopedic trauma

Estimated patient ratio of 1:4‑5

Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts (19:00-07:30) on weekdays with some weekends required

Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity

No on‑call responsibilities

Epic EMR experience required

Skills required include IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and intermediate-level care

Requirements

Active Ohio RN license or compact RN license (must be active at time of consideration)

Current BLS certification required; ACLS preferred

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Epic EMR experience required

Proficiency with IV insertion, telemetry, and intermediate-level nursing skills

2 professional references required: at least 1 must be from a Manager, Director, or formal leadership role (e.g., Supervisor); a Charge RN is acceptable as the second reference; co‑worker references are not accepted

Additional Information

Previous travel nursing experience preferred

Local candidates are accepted

Former facility employees are eligible to apply once they have been away from the facility for at least 6 months

Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration and must not exceed 7 days for the contract period

Ohio state fingerprinting is required and must be initiated promptly upon accepting an offer; candidates outside Ohio may need to travel to a fingerprinting location or will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet to be completed urgently
