Director of Strategic SourcingLocation: AtlantaThe Director of Strategic Sourcing will lead the development and execution of enterprise sourcing and category strategies across approximately $900 million in annual third-party spend. The role is accountable for delivering measurable financial, operational, risk-management, and supplier-performance outcomes while enabling the organization’s strategic priorities.The Director will lead and develop a high-performing sourcing team, advise senior leaders on complex commercial decisions, and partner with Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, Technology, Operations, and business-unit stakeholders. This leader will apply external market intelligence, disciplined category management, rigorous negotiation, and strong supplier governance to improve total cost of ownership, manage third-party risk, accelerate innovation, and preserve value throughout the contract lifecycle.Role ResponsibilitiesLead the development and execution of sourcing strategies aligned with business goals. Analyze business needs and market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and sourcing efficiencies. Drive the proposal process, vendor selection, and contract negotiations. Oversee procurement activities across multiple categories, ensuring compliance and value delivery. Negotiate business and contract terms to optimize financial and operational outcomes. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability. Solicit new business opportunities and partnerships. Monitor vendor performance and ensure alignment with company standards. Engage proactively with internal stakeholders—including Finance, Legal, Operations, and Business Units—to understand needs, align sourcing strategies, and ensure seamless collaboration. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations on sourcing initiatives and risk management. Role RequirementsBachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Minimum of 10+ years of experience in general business, financial, accounting, or related disciplines. 7+ years of leadership experience in procurement and contract negotiation in a strategic sourcing or procurement function. A track record of building trust and fostering collaboration at all organizational levels. · Prefer experience in a global, regulated, financial-services, payments, or technology-intensive environment.Work ShiftHYBRID - Western Union values in-person collaboration, problem solving, and ideation whenever possible.
