Attorney: Insurance Defense Law

Milber Makris Plousadis & Seiden, LLP, a full-service civil litigation defense firm and business partner to the insurance industry, is seeking a highly motivated defense attorney with 3 to 8+ years’ experience handling professional liability claims and/or representing architects and engineers and handling complex construction claims. Candidate must have superior analytical and communication skills and must have prior experience taking & defending depositions. Qualification requirements: J.D. degree from an ABA-accredited law school
Admitted to practice in Florida and in good standing
Exhibits an in-depth knowledge of Florida Court Rules and Procedures
Demonstrated excellence in research, writing, and legal analysis
Strong work ethic, ability to manage caseload and work in a team environment
Highly detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Experience taking and defending depositions, drafting and arguing substantive motions, attending hearings and trials preferred
Duties and responsibilities of attorneys include but are not limited to: Managing caseload (with oversight by partners depending on experience level)
Drafting motions, pleadings, and discovery responses
Research and writing of memorandums
Reporting to clients
Attending hearings and court conferences
Conducting and defending depositions
Attending site inspections
Consulting with expert witnesses
Attending mediations
Trial preparation and trials
