Associate Attorney - Compliance

Associate Attorney
We are seeking a skilled Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The successful candidate will handle a diverse caseload, prepare and litigate motions, take and defend depositions, and provide strategic legal advice to clients. This role requires strong courtroom presence, excellent legal writing and research skills, and the ability to manage cases from intake through resolution. Employment law experience is a plus.
Key Responsibilities

Manage an active litigation caseload, including client intake, case strategy, and ongoing client communication.
Draft, file, and argue motions, pleadings, and other court documents.
Prepare for and conduct depositions, witness interviews, and fact investigations.
Perform legal research and prepare clear, persuasive memoranda, briefs, and motions.
Represent clients at hearings, mediations, and court proceedings as required.
Oversee and respond to discovery requests, coordinate document production, and work with e-discovery tools.
Collaborate with partners, senior attorneys, and support staff to develop case strategies and trial preparation.
Supervise and mentor junior associates and paralegals as appropriate.
Maintain accurate billing records and case management files in accordance with firm policies.
Ensure compliance with ethical obligations and court rules, and manage deadlines effectively.
Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the state Bar in the hiring jurisdiction; in good standing.
• 2+ years of litigation experience, with demonstrated motion practice and deposition experience.
• Experience or strong interest in employment law preferred.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Familiarity with e-discovery platforms, Lexis/Westlaw, and standard litigation technologies.
• Strong interpersonal skills, client-focused approach, and professional demeanor.
• Willingness to appear in court and travel as necessary.
