This is a 23 bed medical surgical unit caring for orthopedic, spine, general surgery and bariatric patients. We do have some overflow from the medicine areas if a bed is available. It s a very busy fast paced unit and usually receives 10-20 post-ops/day. This unit includes cardiac and O2 monitoring capability. Nursing requirements; both medical and surgical skillset and BLS. ACLS not required. EKG exam required to pass during onboarding. Float to other units in skillset. Local travelers within 100 miles are not accepted at this facility. Need experience with wound vacs and solid orthopedic experience. Require strong attention to detail. Familiar with orthopedic equipment. Compact or KY State License (required at time of submission) Locals: Not accepted within the following radiuses: Cath Lab RN, IR RN, and Radiology: 75 miles All Other Specialties: 100 miles At least 1 Reference Required at time of submission Candidates will float within hospital or to an affiliate hospital near by Return Staff Policy: Gone from all UK affiliated facilities for 6 months to return as traveler License Hits : University of Kentucky WILL NOT accept any licensure hits. If you are submitting a traveler with a license hit, the submission will be rejected.
