Summary Of Position Under minimal shop supervision, accurately and efficiently sets-up and operates 5-axis CNC Mills to manufacture tooling and parts.

Performs sets-up and operates a 5-axis CNC Mill to provide quality parts and tooling.

Interprets and follows engineering planning.

Performs inspection of machined parts

Interfaces and partners with Engineering, Programming and Quality Inspection as necessary

Clearly interfaces and established effective communication with opposite shift via logbook, verbal communication, and shift interchanges.

Performs troubleshooting of quality errors to assist in the root cause and correction process.

Participates in 6S programs and maintains work area, tools, and equipment in a neat, clean, and orderly manner.

Required Skills, Education & Experience 2+ years of experience operating full 5-Axis CNC mills.

Experience machining Invar, Aluminum, Composite and Graphite materials.

Ability to use manual inspection equipment i.e. Ability to MDI (Manual Data Input) hole patterns and radii

Thorough understanding of machining different materials and the ability to calculate spindle speed, machining feedrates, and proper chip load.

Preferred Qualifications CNC Machinist Certification

Forklift and crane experience and certification.

Knowledge of advanced cutting tool technology

Travel Requirements Most travel is primarily local during the business day. Some projects may require travel out of the area and overnight stays.

Typically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation

May access and work in the manufacturing plant

While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particles

The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. May be required to travel to other site locations as projects require.

May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands

Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.

Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
