A Senior Field Engineer (SFE) will focus on commissioning complex AV systems. Commissioning involves the testing and fine tuning of all the equipment in the system to ensure it is working well, independently and as a system, per the design intent. The SFE will travel to the customer's site, and ensure the system is installed, setup and operating as designed. This position will mentor other FE's and assist other FE's through remote online support.
The Territory covers Virginia, Maryland, & DC: as such, candidate must reside in, or be willing to relocate to that Territory

Lead the commissioning effort of large and/or complex projects greater than $750k as the technical expert on site or remotely, providing training, support, and ongoing development of other FEs.

Implements and trains other field engineers and install technicians on how to implement system installations and commissioning according to the quality checklist.
Create, manage, and communicate on-site progress and roadblocks by aggregating team reports and passing them forward to PM and/or client regularly.
Support projects remotely, accessing and commission AV systems by utilizing local support personnel
Configure AV network and coordinate client network.
Create and modify DSP files for complex divisible systems with an emphasis on AEC optimization for videoconferencing and coordinating control objects with programmer.
Contributes lessons learned feedback to the install, design, and pre-sales engineering teams to constantly improve system designs, product selection, and implementation.
Archive configuration and programming files with appropriate labeling to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the service team and adapt previous configurations for new projects to increase efficiency.
The field aspect complicates commissioning a system. The SFE needs to have a high level of knowledge on a wide variety of equipment and different manufacturers. Deep understanding of audio, video, control and networking systems is important. Providing training and support for other FE's and for the most complex systems and tasks requires a very experienced person with exceptional people skills.
The SFE typically will be working alone after the installation is substantially complete, but still will coordinate with other team members to ensure a smooth project completion and good communication. Project managers, engineers and others will be available to answer questions.
The employee may be exposed to construction site conditions on a regular basis. Employee will be responsible for their safety while on job sites and to comply with all safety regulations in place by the GC. Use of PPE is usually required on job sites. The employee can typically spend at least 50% of their time on their feet and be required to mobile around the construction site. The employee must have the ability to occasionally climb ladders, use stairs and lift and/or move materials up to 40 pounds in construction areas. The individual is regularly required to use keyboards, test equipment and controls required for SI installation projects. When not on construction sites, the employee will experience normal office conditions and be required to use office equipment such as computers, peripherals, etc.
Travel:
Frequent travel by car, train, and occasional airplane trips are required. Local travel to job sites (within a 2 hour driving distance each way) will make up 70-90% usually but remote travel can be up to 30% of the job at times. 10% remote travel is required on a regular basis.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Level one programming/configuration certification from Crestron and/or Extron
Five or more years' experience as a commercial AV Field Engineer
Networking knowledge and/or certifications
Proficient with Microsoft Office 365
Able to concisely, consistently, and appropriately communicate with the project team
Able to manage multiple additional FEs and Install Techs on large sites; maintain overall project implementation status and reporting
Field installation and/or system design experience
Able to troubleshoot complex AV and network systems from conference rooms to hybrid-live event spaces
Excellent Verbal and Written English Skills. Good customer service skills
Be familiar with audio, video and network-based systems and equipment
