Toolmaker -- Full-Time

A leading advanced manufacturing company is seeking an experienced professional to build, repair, and maintain high-precision injection molds used in the production of complex plastic components. As a Mold Maker, you will build and repair precision injection molds while supporting engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams. This role requires expertise in machining, mold assembly, troubleshooting, and working to extremely tight tolerances to ensure tooling performs at the highest level.

Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.

Build, assemble, fit, and polish precision injection molds and mold components.

Set up and operate conventional and CNC machining equipment, including mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM machines.

Collaborate with engineering and project teams to complete tooling projects accurately and on schedule.

Maintain molds and tooling to maximize production efficiency and product quality.

Follow safety, quality, and housekeeping standards while maintaining an organized work area.

High school diploma or GED required.

Two or more years of mold making or tool room experience preferred.

Experience operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, surface grinders, EDM sinkers, and hole-burning equipment.

Familiarity with CAD/CAM software such as Mastercam and SolidWorks is a plus.

Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment and machining techniques.

Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Experience building and repairing high-precision injection molds.

Understanding of mold cooling systems, ejection systems, and polishing techniques.

Strong close vision and color vision, including the ability to use microscopes and precision inspection equipment.
