Maintenance person Full Time

The City of Cedar Falls is accepting application materials from individuals interested in being considered for full-time Maintenance Worker. The FY27 pay range is $26.994 $33.011 and this position is eligible for union contract and step pay increases, and full-time benefits. This position includes a variety of general maintenance and construction duties including the operation of automated and semi-automated refuse collection, recycling, Transfer Station, street, and water reclamation equipment such as dump trucks, snowplows, end loaders, skid steer loaders, and other Public Works equipment for related duties.
Candidates must have completed the 10th grade or equivalent combination of experience and training providing the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: positive interaction with the public; operation of hand and power tools, and equipment; safety practices and precautions necessary to operate mechanized equipment; perform manual labor requiring physical strength and endurance to perform maintenance and construction; and develop the skills necessary for the maintenance and operation of assigned equipment.
Candidates must also have a valid drivers license, good driving record, and possession of (or ability to obtain and maintain) the appropriate Commercial Drivers License (CDL). Position is subject to Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse queries, drivers license and driving record reviews, and DOT random drug and alcohol screenings.
