Compensation Pay Range: Minimum Offer $37.29, Maximum Offer $56.92

Summary: As a Physical Therapist and movement expert, you'll have the opportunity to improve patient quality of life through hands‑on care, patient education, and prescribed movement. Our inpatient rehabilitation teams are collaborative and patient‑focused. You'll work together with Physical Therapy Assistants to treat patients of all ages and abilities.

Responsibilities

Requires detailed knowledge of physical therapy in terms of what and how work is to be done as well as why it is done, including interpretation of data.

Basic computer skills required.

Basic understanding of the rules and regulations of the specific setting.

Evaluates and treats patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.

Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served.

Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well‑being of the patient.

Promotes patient/caregiver self‑determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence.

Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care.

Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care.

Acts as a patient advocate.

Other duties as assigned.

For Pediatric Physical Therapist:

Evaluate and treat infants, children, and adolescents for various health conditions, addressing motor development, strength, range of motion, endurance, balance, coordination, and gait.

Interview children and family members, using physical examination to diagnose movement disorder.

Ability to evaluate and treat patients aged 18 years old and older.

Float to adult units if needed when pediatric patient census fluctuates.

Evaluates and treats pediatric patients from birth to 18 years old, regarding therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders.

Settings include inpatient, inpatient emergency department.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required.

New Mexico Physical Therapy License required (or New Mexico Physical Therapy provisional/temporary license accepted).

Less than one year of experience in physical therapy.

New graduates encouraged to apply.

Doctor of Physical Therapy preferred.

BLS required at time of hire.
