Full-Time Attorney

Essential DutiesAnalyze conflicts of interest issues independently relating to new firm business, lateral attorneys, new staff, and potential merger candidates;Draft conflict waivers and ethical walls as needed to resolve potential conflicts of interest;Advise attorneys regarding ethical obligations relating to conflicts of interest and other issues covered by the Rules of Professional Conduct;Perform legal research and prepare memoranda relating to professional responsibility and risk management.Perform after-hours, weekend, and holiday conflicts checks as assigned.QualificationsKnowledge/ExperienceThis position requires a working understanding of large law firm processes and procedures as well as general familiarity with the various practice areas handled by the firm. A working understanding of the Rules of Professional Conduct and ethics law and opinions relating to conflicts of interest is essential. Experience with legal research and writing.Effective time management and the ability to independently manage multiple projects simultaneously. Solid legal research and communication skills.EducationJD from accredited law school required. License to practice law in US jurisdiction required.Must be able to move around the office up to 15% of the time to make copies, fax, file, etc; This position constantly operates, computers and other office productivity machines (e.g., Occasionally required to move documents or files weighing up to 25 lbs; This position requires constant communication and exchange of information with the Firm attorneys, clients and staff; This position must be able to inspect and observe information on a computer screen at least 80% of the time.Working ConditionsWill work in a standard Office environment using standard office equipment including, but not limited to, personal computer, copy/fax machine, telephone.
