Bar Sprezzatura, the ultimate cocktail bar experience nestled atop the Kimpton Hotel Theta at 790 8th Avenue, NYC. This chic rooftop destination merges the relaxed elegance of the Italian Riviera with a vibrant, modern atmosphere, renowned for signature spritzes and elevated stuzzichini. At our base, we are essentially an upscale Italian-inspired tapas Rooftop Bar, and we are looking for a new member to join our team!
Job Requirements:

• 2-3 years Line Cook Experience
• High School Diploma or GED Preferred
• Food Handlers Card Preferred

Shift Availability:

• Evening Shift
• Weekdays, Weekends, Holidays

Line Cook Responsibilities:
Line Cook Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and portion guidelines.
Operate a designated cooking station, such as grill, sauté, fry, or pantry.
Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and measuring food items.
Ensure all meals are prepared accurately and served on time.
Follow food presentation standards established by the restaurant.
Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and consistency.
Set up and stock workstations with ingredients, utensils, and cooking equipment before service.
Monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is properly prepared.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations.
Label, date, and properly store food products to maintain freshness.
Inspect ingredients for quality and report spoiled or damaged products.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout each shift.
Clean grills, fryers, ovens, cutting boards, and other kitchen equipment after use.
Minimize food waste through proper portion control and inventory practices.
Restock ingredients and supplies during and after service.
Communicate effectively with chefs, servers, and other kitchen staff to ensure timely order completion.
Prioritize multiple food orders during busy meal periods.
Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
Monitor inventory levels and notify supervisors when supplies need replenishment.
Follow recipes while accommodating approved customer dietary restrictions or special requests.
Ensure compliance with health department regulations and company policies.
Safely operate knives, slicers, mixers, grills, ovens, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
Assist Prep Cooks with ingredient preparation when needed.
Help train and mentor new kitchen staff on cooking procedures and safety practices.
Participate in opening/closing kitchen duties.
Support other kitchen stations during peak business hours.
Report equipment malfunctions or kitchen hazards to management promptly.
Maintain professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth daily operations.
Assist with menu testing or preparation of seasonal and specialty dishes as assigned.
Perform other duties assigned by the Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Kitchen Manager.
