General Job Description
Provide educationally related social work services for students with disabilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete routine reports and tasks promptly and efficiently.
Participate in student planning and program development.
Implement individual student programs.
Demonstrate willingness to examine and implement change as appropriate.
Work productively with colleagues, parents, and students.
Demonstrate accurate knowledge of field.
Employ appropriate assessment techniques and procedures.
Maintain a professional demeanor as defined by the code of ethics of the education profession.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct individualized social‑emotional‑adaptive assessments of the student, the student’s family, and the educational and social communities.
Employ suitable practices that enable students and families to function adequately within educational and community settings.
Continuously evaluate services.
Prepare social or developmental histories for students with disabilities.
Provide group and individual counseling to students and their families in special education.
Address problems in students’ living situations that affect adjustment in school.
Mobilize school and community resources to benefit students’ special education services.
Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student needs, evaluation data, and goal planning.
Maintain necessary licensure.
Perform other duties as deemed necessary by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Must have a current social worker license, effective verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with parents, students, and school personnel.
Physical Requirements
Sitting, standing, lifting and carrying (up to 50 pounds), reaching, squatting, kneeling, prolonged typing, and moving light furniture may be required.
Equipment/Technology Handled
Must be proficient or willing to learn to operate all multimedia equipment, including current technology.
Work Environment
Must work within various degrees of noise, temperature, and air quality. Interruptions are routine. Flexibility, patience, and self‑motivation are required. Must complete assignments without direct supervision.

Salary and work calendar established yearly by the district.
