Public Health Dental Hygienist (Part-time)

You'll work closely with our dentists and support team to create a positive experience for every patient while helping improve access to care across our community.Schedule & Perks: Monday–Friday | Clinics close at 2:00 PM every FridayFull-time employees enjoy:Up to 200 hours (5 weeks) of PTO per yearEmployer retirement contributionsMedical, dental, vision, and supplemental benefitsIn-house healthcare discounts for eligible employeesEligible site for NHSC Loan Repayment Program opportunitiesKey Responsibilities:Perform patient screenings including oral health assessments, health history review, oral cancer screenings, head and neck inspections, charting, and vital signsComplete dental radiographs (x-rays) and assist with development and reviewRemove calculus and plaque from tooth surfaces through preventive hygiene careApply sealants, fluoride treatments, and other preventive materialsAdminister nitrous oxide sedation and local anesthesia as permittedDocument existing restorations and identify areas of concern for dentist evaluationEducate patients on oral hygiene, brushing, flossing, nutrition, and tobacco cessationMaintain infection control standards and sterilization procedures following universal precautionsAssist with impressions for study casts and other clinical support as neededMaintain accurate patient documentation and support administrative workflowRequirements:Current Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) license in KansasStrong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, radiology, and infection control standardsExcellent communication and patient education skillsPreferred Qualifications:Current CPR certificationExperience working in a community health or public health settingBilingual (Spanish) preferredIf you're passionate about patient care and want to be part of a mission-driven organization making a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
