Senior Structural Engineer – Substation (Power Group)

Lead or support utility and power substation projects ranging from 34.5 kV to 500 kV.

Develop substation structural steel and foundation drawings and calculations for new and existing substations.

Prepare specifications for substation structural materials.

Collaborate internally to pursue power substation projects regionally and nationally, increasing GFT presence.

Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (minimum).

8+ years progressive experience in design, engineering, and project management in the power and utility industry.

Experience in the consulting engineering profession.

Proficiency with project management software (Microsoft Project or similar).

Design experience in high‑voltage substation and transmission projects.

Experience creating quality technical solutions for major power delivery projects.

Commitment to business performance, continuous improvement, and best practices.

Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Inventor.

Experience with structural engineering finite element software.
