The substitute will receive instruction and guidance from the site manager. Other on-site staff may provide directions as needed or desired. Principal Activities:Provide classroom support as assigned to ensure continuity of care and learning when regular teaching staff are absent.Supervise and actively engage with children to promote learning, ensure their safety, maintain required adult-to-child ratios, and respond to individual developmental and behavioral needs.Facilitate age-appropriate small group activities that support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.Model professional practices that align with ECEAP Performance Standards, Washington State licensing requirements, and agency policies and procedures.Assist with maintaining a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment by completing routine housekeeping and classroom preparation tasks.Observe children's behavior and development and communicate concerns or significant observations to the Site Program Manager.Adapt to different classrooms, teaching teams, and daily routines while providing consistent, high-quality support to staff and children.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to support program operations and ensure quality services for children and families.Provides consistent, high-quality classroom support that ensures a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for children when regular staff are unavailable.
