Program Director (High School)The Program Director (High School) role is a teen-focused specialty and is responsible for delivering high-quality programs and mentorship to members in grades 9 through 12. This role focuses on creating meaningful relationships with teen members, supporting their academic success, workforce readiness, leadership development, and overall well-being before and after school. The position involves planning, implementing, and evaluating teen-centered programs in areas such as college and career exploration, social-emotional learning, civic engagement, Brent's Club, Kindness and creative enrichment.Responsibilities include:Opening the program at 6:30am so students can be dropped off earlier and have breakfast if they would likeCreating a welcoming environment for students that need to be dropped off before campus opensPromoting and maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that encourages teens to build confidence, leadership skills, and positive peer relationshipsFostering strong relationships with teen members, acting as a mentor and positive role modelActively promoting programs and recruiting teen members through outreach within the high school and communityLeading and supporting signature teen programs such as Brent's Club, Kindness, Youth of the Year, Keystone and etcMaintaining accurate program records, incident reports, and documentationMaintaining program spaces, ensuring they are organized, safe, and teen-friendlyParticipating in required staff meetings, training, and professional developmentProviding guidance and behavior management in accordance with BGCMLA policies and expectationsOther duties as assignedQualifications include:College degree or equivalentStrong communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsCombined experience and/or formal training equivalent to a minimum of two years where: there is experience working with youth and knowledge of youth development and/or formal training, and/or experience teaching youth while creating engaging learning experiencesHold a valid driver's license and pass motor vehicle driving record checkPass criminal background checkPass (negative result) a TB testCPR and First Aid Certifications preferredPrior experience working in a Boys & Girls Club preferredKnowledge of core subject areas relevant to teen programming, including academic support, college and career readiness, workforce development, social-emotional learning, and youth leadershipUnderstanding of adolescent development and best practices in youth engagement for high school-aged membersStrong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to plan, lead, and evaluate programs that lead to measurable positive outcomes for teensAbility to model professionalism, reliability, and a growth mindset in all interactions and maintain clear boundaries with teen membersThis position may be assigned to any sites within the Club as needed to accommodate changes in programming, staffing, or operational requirementsHours are based on school calendar and attendance patterns/trendsSalary Description: $25-$30hr Boys & Girls Clubs of America
