Supply Chain Planning/Buyer

Position Summary:Responsible for assuring the continuous supply of direct and indirect material and services to support local and brand based goals. Minimize the total landed cost of material, optimize company’s cash flow through Strategic Sourcing Initiatives.Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):Evaluates and acts upon the MRP requirements and Kanban levels for all direct material items. Generates and adjusts purchase orders to support production schedules. Effectively communicates areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals and/or suppliers. Inputs, maintains, and adjusts records or transactions to ensure system validityEffectively communicates forecasted requirements to external suppliersMaintains department ‘MDI’ board driving improvements in S,Q,D,C,GDrives increased inventory turns and improved customer OTD by developing, implementing and managing pull-based material replenishment processes, including, but not limited to Kanban cards, vendor managed inventory and supplier consignmentsSupport resourcing and out-sourcing projects by proactively planning materials to ensure uninterrupted flow of product to customers as requiredWorking with Crane Supply Chain in the review, development and creation of new and existing suppliersNegotiating pricing by leveraging manufacturing techniques, volume buys/blanket orders, tooling vs machining, etc.Evaluating using catalogue and alternate parts to increase product rationalization and drive productivity improvementsConsistent with Crane’s Operational Excellence focus, participates in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events that will eliminate waste and result in significant benefits (Growth, Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost) throughout the Supply ChainPromotes a spirit of cooperation throughout the supply chain to insure responsiveness to the customerParticipate in quality improvements as per IATF 16949 2016 to ensure completed toll gates for DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and Process Capability studies for in house processesEnsure requirements of relevant standards like ISO 9001-2015, etc. are being consistently met and improved.Essential Qualifications / Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related fieldExcellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact-based decisionsKnowledgeable in Microsoft office suite software (e.g. Word, Excel, etc.)Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environmentProven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organizational linesPreferred Qualifications/ExperienceExperience working with suppliers from low-cost regions (India, China, Eastern Europe, Etc.)Experience implementing lean concepts (Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Leadership, 5S, etc)Knowledge and use of ERP systemsKnowledge of supplier performance management practices, including supplier scorecards and performance metricsEOE/Women/Minorities/Veterans/Disabled#CPESalary Range: $60,000 to $75,000. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Compensation packages also include comprehensive benefits, 401K contribution and match, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement and more.
