Summerford Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide quality rehabilitation services designed to help residents improve mobility, strength, function, and overall quality of life.
Provide physical therapy treatments and interventions according to established treatment plans.
Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, functional activities, mobility training, and other rehabilitation activities.
Monitor residents' progress and communicate changes or concerns to the Physical Therapist and appropriate members of the healthcare team.
Document treatments and resident progress accurately and in a timely manner.
Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment for residents.
Educate and encourage residents regarding exercises, mobility, and participation in their rehabilitation program.
Collaborate with nursing staff, therapists, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team.
Follow all applicable facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Provide compassionate, respectful, and person-centered care to every resident.
Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in the State of Alabama.
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
Ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Previous experience in a skilled nursing or rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
