Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a 37-bed Medical Surgical unit serving trauma, oncology, and general med/surg patient populations
Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5/6 on night shifts
Administer and monitor set-rate drips including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives; titration of drips is not required
Demonstrate competency in reading telemetry strips using Phillips Telemetry monitoring system (centrally monitored off the unit)
Self-schedule shifts including a minimum of six weekend shifts per six-week schedule cycle in alignment with unit staffing plans
Fulfill holiday requirements and float within Zone 3 as determined by department needs
Required Qualifications
Active RN licensure in the state of Colorado (or compact eligibility)
Current BLS certification required
Minimum of 1 year of acute care nursing experience
Competency in telemetry strip reading
Must be present in state for the full week of orientation, even if initial modules are conducted remotely
Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; valid driver's license must be submitted
Preferred Experience / Skills
Prior experience with trauma or oncology patient populations
Familiarity with Phillips Telemetry monitoring systems
Experience with self-scheduling and block scheduling environments
