Job Summary:
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver responsible for a group of patients during a designated time frame. The RN provides care using the nursing process, current trends, technology, and available resources, aligning with the institution's philosophy.
Required Qualifications:

Minimum one (1) year of relevant nursing experience
Illinois state RN License in good standing
BLS (American Heart Association)
Preferred Qualifications:

~ BSN

Additional Information:

Performs responsibilities and duties specific to the unit's scope of service
Implements procedures and theories related to the area of practice
Maintains accurate documentation of nursing care
Completes initial assessments and develops care plans based on patient and family needs
Implements and modifies care plans based on continuous evaluation
Ensures patient and employee safety by addressing safety hazards
Communicates effectively within the healthcare team
Delegates tasks to HCTs and validates completion
Provides patient medications following the 5 Rights: Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Route, Right Dose, and Right Time
Maintains compliance with safety measures such as fall precautions and pressure ulcer prevention
Uses critical thinking to evaluate patient conditions and act on changes
Manages time effectively to facilitate admissions, discharges, and patient testing
