Part-Time D Shift Direct Support Professional

Job Summary
Belove It Care is seeking a dependable and patient Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a young adult male who is largely independent but benefits from consistent guidance and redirection. This role focuses on reinforcing daily living skills, promoting accountability, and supporting personal development while encouraging independence and confidence.
This is not a hands-on personal care role , but it does require consistent verbal prompting, redirection, and accountability to support hygiene, routines, and daily living expectations.
The ideal candidate is calm, structured, and comfortable coaching rather than completing tasks for the individual.
Responsibilities Provide verbal prompting and redirection to support daily routines

Reinforce hygiene, grooming, and self-care expectations

Support development of independent living skills, including light household tasks and organization

Encourage healthy habits and appropriate decision‑making

Assist with community engagement and social activities as needed

Maintain structure, consistency, and clear boundaries

Document progress, behaviors, and goal‑related updates accurately

Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized support plans

Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred

Strong communication skills and ability to provide calm redirection

Patient, consistent, and able to maintain professional boundaries

Reliable transportation (if community outings are required)

Ability to work assigned part‑time shifts
