RN PCU / Stepdown
Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Night Shifts | No Call
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, develop and implement individualized plans of care, and evaluate treatment effectiveness in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with state practice standards and facility policies, including cardiac drips such as amiodarone, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, Lasix, milrinone, and heparin.
Serve as the primary point of contact for care coordination across hospital departments, including communication with family members and caregivers.
Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and advocate for patient safety, spiritual care, palliative care, and ethical considerations.
Current RN license in the state of practice or covered under a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required; experience in a PCU, Stepdown, or acute care setting strongly preferred.
Local candidates are not accepted; this is a travel contract position.
Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
Experience with post-Cath Lab patient care highly desirable as the unit transitions to a PCT model.
Familiarity with EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) system preferred.
Work in a structured 20-bed PCU environment with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and dedicated PCT support staff.
Gain experience in a dynamic unit managing a diverse PCU-level patient population with exposure to advanced cardiac and respiratory care modalities.
