Quality Control / Drawing Checker

Akkodis is seeking a Quality Control Inspector for a Contract job with a client in Carson, CA 90746. The client is seeking a experienced Quality Inspection Supervisor with a strong background in aerospace manufacturing or aviation quality assurance who can lead inspection teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive product quality. The ideal candidate has hands‑on inspection experience, leadership capabilities, and expertise in interpreting engineering drawings, managing nonconformances, and working with industry standards such as FAA, Boeing, Airbus, and ISO .

Rate Range: $33/hour to $35/hour; the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Responsibilities

Supervise and lead 1–15 Quality Assurance inspectors and technicians.

Oversee inspection and testing of materials and finished products before shipment.

Conduct and support First Article Inspections (FAI) and interface with customers, FAA, and airframe manufacturers.

Prepare and manage Corrective Action Requests (CARs) and Drawing Change Requests.

Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and resolve nonconforming issues.

Analyze quality data, investigate customer complaints, and generate quality reports.

Interpret engineering drawings and verify compliance with specifications.

Audit production areas for organization, labeling, and calibration compliance.

Assist manufacturing teams with drawing interpretation and workmanship standards.

Develop and maintain quality objectives to maximize reliability and reduce costs.

Requirements / Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; technical certificate or college degree preferred.

Minimum 6 years of quality inspection or quality control experience .

2 years of leadership or supervisory experience .

Experience with quality systems in manufacturing or aerospace environments.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.

Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and tape measures.

Knowledge of algebra, geometry, and dimensional measurement techniques.

Strong communication, organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills

Aerospace or aviation industry experience.

Working knowledge of FAA, Boeing, Airbus, ISO, and CAA quality standards and regulations.

Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) , Material Review Board (MRB) , and Corrective Action Requests (CARs) .

Familiarity with MSDS documentation and SPS manual processes.

Strong focus on safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement.

Ability to self‑inspect work and quickly resolve inspection nonconformities.

Experience supporting customer audits and working under strict production timelines.

Proven ability to coach and develop quality inspection teams while maintaining high standards.
