15.00 Per hour. Job Summary: Maintain a clean and orderly building environment for FlagShip. Responsibilities include sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, waxing, polishing floors, dusting walls and light fixtures, cleaning blinds, moving furniture, removing stains, and performing seasonal tasks such as raking leaves, cutting grass, and removing snow.

Essential Functions Sweeps, vacuums, mops, scrubs, waxes and polishes floors using industrial vacuum cleaners and scrubbing and buffing machines

Sometimes using ladders, dusts and washes walls, cleans ceilings and dusts and polishes light fixtures

Washes and replaces blinds

Moves cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates and equipment to clean areas

May remove stains from rugs, drapes, walls and floors using chemicals and cleaning solutions

May also sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow or perform other incidental seasonal tasks

Applies protective applications to walls, floors and equipment, and removes protective applications as needed

Carpeted areas: empties waste baskets, replaces liners, dusts/cleans tops of office furniture, vacuums all carpeting, spot cleans soiled areas on carpets, cleans glass on lobby door, sweeps and mops tile areas

Lunchroom/Break areas: empties waste baskets, wipes/cleans tables, chairs, vending machines, appliances, sinks and counters, sweeps and mops tile floors

Restrooms: empties waste baskets, cleans and sanitizes toilets, basins, urinals, sweeps and mops floors with disinfectant, spot cleans walls, partitions and doors, refills dispensers

Non-Carpeted areas: empties waste baskets, sweeps and spot mops tile floors, completes damp mop tile floors, dusts/cleans desks, cleans surfaces of tables, dusts high partitions and ledges, cleans interior partition glass

Dusts overhead vents, dusts blinds, polishes wood furniture

Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of basic janitorial duties and responsibilities

Good listening and verbal communication skills

Ability to speak/understand English

Maintains a neat appearance; uniform required at some worksites

Attends periodic training and safety meetings

Understands and anticipates client needs

Punctuality

Education and Work Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Six months of experience in commercial facilities and building janitorial work desired.

Work Environment Small-to-large office environment

Safety glasses required while performing certain tasks

Fast paced work environment

Exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products, and moderate noise

Physical Demands The employee is occasionally required to perform repetitive movements such as standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking or hearing. Needs ability to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time; may lift and move a minimum of 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment. Requires good close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and focus vision.
