RDA/DENTAL ASSISTANCE

Position Summary Assists in patient treatment with the dentist and supports the Dental Department with patient flow, sterilization and asepsis of equipment, outside lab procedures; maintains appropriate inventory levels and performs dental x‑rays. Provides competent care to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients (ages 3 – 100+). Must be certified to take radiographs or be a graduate of an approved dental assistant program.

Job Responsibilities Assist the dentist during patient care, manage patient flow, perform sterilization and asepsis of equipment, maintain inventory levels, conduct dental x‑rays, and provide care to patients of all age groups.

Requirements Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or GED. Graduate of a certified dental assistant program or equivalent experience.

Certification: Must be certified in radiographs or graduate of a certified dental program to perform x‑rays.

Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of oral hygiene and dental assistance functions; excellent manual dexterity; detailed accurate work; interpersonal skills with a caring attitude; basic computer proficiency for data entry.

Completion of required vaccinations (COVID‑19, flu, and COVID‑19 booster).

Completion of a background check and E‑Verify as required by Boston Medical Center.

Compensation Hourly rate: $21.39–$30.05. Pay is determined by education, experience, skills, certifications, and internal equity considerations.
