Assembly Laborer The Assembly Laborer reports to a supervisor and is responsible for assembling components according to product specifications. Essential functions include obtaining and sorting product, responsible for packing jobs according to specifications, wrapping protective material around product, establishing counts, quantities, product orientation, etc., inspecting materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process, responsible for accurate load tickets, counts and labeling, some assembly required, cleaning packaging containers, abiding OSHA and FSC rules and regulations for safety, wearing typical protection gear in an environment that contains dust, odor and noise, working well under pressure, and other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities upon hiring, however, potential direct reports are a possibility.

Physical demands include standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping, crouching, carrying items, crawling, and climbing all day. The team member may have to lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working conditions can be hot or cold depending on outside environmental conditions, will be exposed to a loud and noisy environment, may be interrupted frequently to meet needs and request of personnel and management, work area is busy and noisy making it challenging to concentrate, peak times may require longer work period in order to meet the customer demands, and continued interruptions require effective stress management with focus on obtaining.

Position type/expected hours of work is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend and overnight work is also necessary.

Required education and experience include high school diploma or GED, ability to identify that product meets quality and productivity standards, ability to use hand tools, ability to focus on details to guarantee production of high quality products, ability to read and follow documented procedures and standards, ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment to assure delivery requirements, willingness and availability to work overtime to reach goals, and clear communication (oral and written) skills.

Additional eligibility qualifications are not required for this position. Work authorization/security clearance must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
