Phlebotomist, Hospital Phlebotomy

Overview

Pride Health is hiring a Phlebotomist III to support our client’s medical facility in Stockbridge, Georgia. It's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Location: Leesburg, VA 20176

Duration: 4+ Months

Pay rate: Depends on the experience of the candidate.

Schedule: Monday-Thursday 8am-4pm, Friday 8am-12pm

*The salary is determined by an individual's level of experience, as well as any relevant licenses and certifications they may hold.

Responsibilities

Experience doing blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data and decontamination, updating patient information, etc.

Collects and stores specimens in accordance with established procedures.

Explain in a clear but courteous manner the process of venipuncture (blood drawing) and other specimen collection as required (e.g., urine or fecal).

Demonstrate technique using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.

Fully understand all physician orders. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test order.

Check all test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure 100% correctness.

Package specimens for transport.

Store specimens at the required temperature and place them accordingly.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required.

A minimum of 1 yr. of phlebotomy experience is required.
