Patients are the key priority in this position, requiring the MA to serve as a point of contact in an environment that promotes patient comfort and trust. The MA communicates to the Lead MA immediate concerns regarding patient interaction. The MA reports to the Health Center Administrator.Age/Patient Populations Served:Adult (19 – 64 yrs.)Bariatric Patients: BMI greater than 40, or greater than 35 with weight-related comorbiditiesPatient with exceptional communication needsPatient with developmental delaysPatient at the end of lifePatient under isolation precautionsAll PopulationsEssential Duties and Responsibilities:Triage patients, including Blood Pressure, Weight, Height, Pulse, and TemperatureAdminister Injections, Immunizations, and Venipuncture according to orders in the EHR for adults and childrenCollection of Lab SpecimensEKG if neededResponsible for reporting to other sites as neededResponsible for all front Desk Functions in a Primary Care settingSchedule AppointmentsSchedule specialty and ancillary appointmentsAnswer PhonesResponsible for patient registration data entryVerify insuranceDaily Batching of encounter formsFollow up for reports from specialistsAssist Providers and Clinical staff as neededAssist patients as neededReview patients' charts and encounter forms for completionScan Reports to the EHR and distributeEnsure that prescription refills and voicemails are retrieved dailyExtensive medical terminologyReport Incidents as they occur.Complete assigned training as requiredUtilize CPR skills if necessaryOther duties as assignedPHMC Compliance Responsibilities:Understands and adheres to PHMC compliance standards as they appear in the PHMC Code of Conduct, Whistleblowers, and Conflict of Interest Policies.Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state, and PHMC regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.Comply with HIPAA and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures as they apply to the job.Comply with Department of Public Health (DPH), The Joint Commission, and other accreditation and regulatory agencies' standards.Adhere to all PHMC Policies and Procedures.Knowledge and adherence to Infection Control and Environment of Care Guidelines and Procedures as described in the annual education module.Maintain MDS sheets according to federal and state regulatory agenciesKeeps all required Certifications currentCompletes all Continuing Education requirements according to PHMC UniversityJob Requirements:The requirements listed below must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
