Overview

Registered Nurse – Med Surg in Portland, Oregon for a travel, temporary assignment. Start date: 10/12/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $1,902-$1,967 per week. Shift: Nights, 12-hour shifts (3x12), totaling about 36 hours per week. In this role you’ll provide focused nursing care to a patient population in an acute-care–style setting, supervise assigned nursing staff, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or group of patients following the nursing process and established standards of care.
• Assess patient conditions, develop care plans, implement interventions, and document nursing actions and outcomes.
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for adverse effects and notify the appropriate team members as needed.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team; participate in hand-offs and care planning to support safe transitions.
• Maintain patient safety and privacy, adhere to infection control practices, and respond to changes in patient condition with clinical judgment and independent thinking.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license (state requirements as applicable)
• Med Surg nursing experience in a fast-paced setting
• Ability to work Nights and maintain the 12-hour shift schedule
• Strong communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills
• Demonstrated clinical judgment and independence in delivering patient care
