Provides clinical mental health services to patients and families of all ages in the Institute for Family Health. The scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, diagnostic assessment, counseling, psychotherapy, brief treatment, behavior modification, crisis intervention, and mental health consultation. The clinician reports to the Regional Director and/or Program Director and works collaboratively with health‑care team members throughout the organization, utilizing independent judgment in delivering care and services. This position requires advanced education and training related to the duties described.

Provide individual, family, and group counseling, crisis intervention and concrete services.

Work in close collaboration with physicians and other health‑care personnel in patient evaluation and treatment to further their understanding of significant social and emotional factors underlying patients’ health problems.

Conduct short‑ and long‑term therapy with appropriate treatment plans, goals, and objectives.

Actively identify child welfare issues and coordinate with the Child Protective coordinator regarding appropriate reporting procedures.

Document all patient services in patient medical records and complete encounter forms for all patient visits.

Assure social‑service compliance with legal, regulatory and professional standards, including Article 28 and JCAHO (where applicable).

Participate in the social‑service quality assurance program.

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based on physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients served in the assigned area.

Master’s degree in Counseling Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.

NYS licensure as LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, PhD/PsyD.

NYC license if Clinical Psychologist or Psychiatrist.

HIV, homeless, mentally ill, elderly, children, adolescents, etc.).

Healthcare experience preferred.

Bi‑lingual; fluent Spanish preferred.
