Inpatient Coder - Hospital

We are hiring experienced Inpatient Coders to support a large-scale health system transition and internalization of Revenue Cycle operations. This is a high-impact opportunity supporting an Epic go-live environment with strong long-term potential.

Responsibilities

Perform inpatient coding for complex acute care cases using ICD-10-CM/PCS

Assign accurate DRGs in compliance with coding guidelines

Review clinical documentation to ensure coding accuracy and completeness

Maintain productivity of ~2.0–2.5 charts/hour with ~95% accuracy

Collaborate with CDI and QA teams to ensure documentation integrity

Participate in team meetings and maintain alignment with team schedules

Requirements

CCS or RHIT certification REQUIRED

4–5+ years of inpatient coding experience (Coder III level preferred)

Strong experience with high-acuity hospital cases

Epic experience strongly preferred

Experience in academic or teaching hospitals highly preferred

Exposure to trauma or complex cases strongly preferred
