The Professional Math Tutor is responsible for meeting with professors to verify knowledge of course content and requirements and to promote student engagement with our services. The Professional Math Tutor may also conduct information sessions regarding tutoring services offered. This position is part-time and the maximum number of hours per week that can be worked is nineteen.**Explain, model, and offer academic assistance related to the subject or assignment.* Assist with the planning, implementation, and presentation of workshops offered through the Academic Learning Center.* Communicate with the Assistant Director of the Academic Learning Center regarding issues, concerns, and suggestions.* Attend training sessions and meetings.* If unable to work, the tutor should notify the leadership within the Academic Learning Center ahead of time or as soon as possible after the related absence.* Perform and maintain focused tutoring responsibilities in an active, highly productive workplace environment that meets the needs of students, faculty, and staff.* Required Education and Experience:*** High school diploma or higher in related field.* No experience required.**Preferred Education and Experience:*** Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, or a closely related field, with a comprehensive understanding of mathematics topics our most commonly supported courses including College Algebra, Math for Business/Social Science, Pre-calculus, Calculus I & II, Differential equations, Linear algebra, and Introductory Statistics.* Ability to tutor statistics-related coursework such as Psychology Research & Statistics, Business Statistics, and Statistics for Criminology is preferred.**Ability to work individually or in groups to complete projects.* Ability to develop and deliver presentations to students and faculty.* Ability to be friendly and collegial with co-workers, faculty, students, staff, and visitors to the campus.* Strong interpersonal, relationship building and conflict resolution skills.**Applicant Requirement Instructions:**Please make sure to provide the following documents:* Cover Letter* Resume / CV* Professional ReferencesFor detailed instructions on how to apply for any position on our website, please use the following link: **Summary of Employee Benefits:** A&M University-San Antonio values community engagement and encourages applicants who are committed to advancing the well-being and prosperity of our communities.**Please ensure that all required documents are uploaded prior to submitting the application.
