Travel Emergency Room RN / ER Registered Nurse - Nights

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Omaha, Nebraska.

Emergency Room (ER) Nurse position located in a high-acuity, Level I Trauma Center. This role involves providing urgent and critical care to trauma, sepsis, chest pain, shortness of breath, and stroke patients in a fast-paced environment. The assignment requires adherence to specific protocols, including recent certifications and departmental policies.
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 48 hours per week. The shifts include 0700-1900, 0900-2100, 1100-2300, 1500-0300, and 1900-0700, depending on department coverage.
Valid nursing license, certifications including BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale), TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course); minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience; compliance with fingernail policy prohibiting artificial nails; and adherence to the radius rule of 50 miles, with no full-time, part-time, or PRN employment with facilities associated with any organization linked to CommonSpirit, including CHI and Dignity.
Unit is a Level I Trauma Center, Pediatric Certified by State, and a Comprehensive Stroke Center.
Security is in-house 24/7, with staffing for both ED physicians and mid-Level providers.
Staffing ratios are 1:4 zones, 1:6 in Fast Track, 1:5 in OBS, and 1:1 in ICU/Trauma.
Will float to OBS and Freestanding ER once a week.
Orientation includes 1 week of onboarding, 2 shifts at Bergan, and 1 shift at UC.
Shift and scheduling are flexible, with leadership responsible for creating the schedule.
RTO (Reason to Occur) must be requested upfront and is limited to 7 days or less within the 13-week contract.
Candidate must be available for shifts starting on 10/26/2026, ending on 01/25/2027.
