Administrative Professional --- IMMEDIATE NEED!!!

$23 - $25 per hour

Cornell Cooperative Extension

This position will serve as an Administrative Assistant for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Nassau County and will provide support primarily for the Administration Team with other programs assigned to meet the needs of the Association. This position will be responsible for the overall clerical support to the assigned programs and program areas; database management; filing and organizing program materials; special projects, etc. This position will represent Cornell Cooperative Extension to the general public, community leaders and government officials in a professional manner. Will appreciate and embrace diversity in all interactions with clientele, staff, volunteers, and the public.

High School Diploma or Equivalent Education.

Valid NYS Driver’s License and the ability to meet travel requirements associated with this position.

Ability to work flexible hours which may include evenings and/or weekends, as appropriate.

Associates Degree in Business or related field.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with co-workers, customers, volunteers, and community leaders.

Demonstrated ability to be adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the program area and the Association.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using oral, written, and visual means.

Demonstrated high level of computer skills, and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs as well as FileMaker and Photoshop.

Demonstrated ability and familiarity with databases and database management.

Administrative Responsibilities:

Coordination/Operation - 95%

Provide routine office assistance; answering phones, copying, assist with grant vouchering, record keeping, etc.

Provide support with all correspondence as needed (letters, meeting materials and agendas, etc.).

Record minutes of required meetings, and provide meeting materials as needed.

Work with program educators to create program flyers, brochures, educational materials, and other special projects as needed.

Take program registrations as required, track participant attendance, etc.Provide support for data entry and reporting as needed to comply with grant requirements.

Perform other general office duties as needed/assigned.

Be familiar with and strive to follow any applicable federal, state, local regulations, Association health and safety policy/procedure/requirement and standard.

This position is a part-time, non-exempt position, 52.5% FTE. The hourly rate for this position is $23.00 to $25.00 commensurate with experience. This position, based on eligibility, offers a comprehensive benefit package, to include: health and dental insurance and NYS retirement.
