Job Summary The English, Communication and Media Studies department is seeking experienced adjunct instructors to teach first-year composition courses. We have available composition sections for Fall 2026. With recent increases in enrollment, we also anticipate hiring to fill additional part‑time openings in AY 27‑28.

Location: Greensboro College – Greensboro, NC 27401

Position Type: Part Time

Responsibilities Prepare and teach in‑person first‑year composition courses on our beautiful campus in Greensboro, NC.

Contribute to the Global Communication Center, providing students with professional consulting in media, writing, and speaking, and use its video and podcasting studios and media equipment.

Participate in regular staff meetings and other teaching responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications Master’s degree (or MFA) in English, Rhetoric and Composition, or Creative Writing from a regionally accredited institution.

Documented completion of at least 18 graduate hours in English, composition, or creative writing.

Preferably experienced instructors who have taught college composition.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for inquiry; however, official transcripts, along with a background check, are required for all successful hires.
