Position Summary: The Implied Consent Staff Attorney position is responsible for performing professional legal representation for Service Oklahoma, primarily in the area of implied consent litigation. Professional legal research and representation may be required in other areas related to driver license and motor vehicle services.

Ensures compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including but not limited to those specific to Service Oklahoma.

Prepares various briefs, pleadings, motions, petitions, and other legal documents.

Assembles legal materials, agency data, documents, and pleadings for court cases.

Participates in all aspects of litigation.

Provides management with advice and work product exhibiting knowledge, insight, and understanding of relevant law and facts.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to draft clear and concise legal documents, and correspondence.

Strong presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts to diverse audiences in a clear and persuasive manner.

Ability to perform independent research, analysis, and application of legal principles, facts, and precedents.

Graduation from an accredited law school; PLUS licensed to practice law in the State of Oklahoma; PLUS minimum one (1) year legal experience as a licensed attorney.

The schedule for this position may vary and require flexibility, including some early or late shifts, weekends, and occasional overtime, based on the needs of the agency.

This position will require occasional travel. The employee must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel. State vehicles may be available, but reliable transportation may be required for local travel.

This position works in a comfortable office setting with a computer for a large percentage of the workday.

This position requires employees to be able to stand up to eight hours a day and lift 10-50 pounds on a regular basis, with assistance as needed.
